What Kind of Mansion Can $100 Million Buy You In California These Days?
Posted by zakiy0609 at 3:15 PMIn case you thought that having a job and being able to pay your mortgage was a sign of success in this country… you really have got to set your sights a little higher.
A French chateau-style mansion in Silicon Valley quietly sold last week. Asking price? $100 million dollars.
You heard that right!
It is now officially the most expensive house ever sold in the United States - and the Los Altos Hills, California mansion just sold to Yuri Milner, 49, who is CEO of Digital Sky Technologies and a Russian billionaire.
The 25,000 square foot home has indoor and outdoor pools, a ballroom, a wine cellar, twelve fire places, ballroom, and a tennis court – just to name a few amenities.
Wonder how much a house like this will cost you in property taxes each year?
Just a measly $5 million dollars – not including lawn and garden care, pool care, roof maintenance, house attendants, water bill, and electric bill.
See, if you have to ask…. You probably can’t afford it!
If Yuri ever tires of his winter play spot he has a few options.
Our top three ideas?
1 - Rent it out to the contestants on American Idol
2 - Use it for filming “Big Brother” next season
3 - Let Charlie Sheen buy it to store all his “Goddesses”
